Saira was born into a Urdu-speaking family in India on 23rd August,1944.She spent much of her childhood in London and was 16 years old when she stepped  into Bollywood.She debuted with the movie called 'Junglee' opposite Shammi Kapoor. And earned her first FilmFare nomination as Best Actress.At the age of 22, she got married to Yusuf Khan, alias Bollywood superstar Dilip Kumar.
